ÁLVARO GAGO

He studied Communication and Music in Pontevedra (Galicia), Drama in Chicago and Filmmaking at the London Film School, where he graduated in 2013 with the short film Curricán, which earned him Best Director at Curtocircuito.He established himself as a director and editor in London while teaching at the Young Film School and organizing the Galician Film Forum.
​In 2017 he directed the 2019 Goya-nominated short film Matria which won him over seventy awards including the 2018 Sundance Grand Jury Prize. That year he edited Trote (Xacio Baño), which had its world premiere at the 2018 Locarno FF, and In Memoriam (Marcos Merino), which premiere at the 2018 SEFF (Sevilla) picking up ‘Best Spanish Film’ within The New Waves Non-Fiction category.
His follow-up short film, 16 de decembro, premiered at the 2019 Locarno Film Festival. This autumn he shooted his first feature film titled, Matria, produced by Avalon P.C., Matriuska Producciones and Ringo Media. The project, developed at the Toronto IFF and at the MFI Script Lab, has received support from the ICAA, Agadic, Movistar+, The Screen and CRTVG.

CORA VELASCO

Actress and musician. She estudied acting at Estudio Corazza. Her roles include the shortfilm Madrid, drawings… presented at the Cannes Festival 2014, and several leading characters as part of the theatre company “Baobab”. She has other audiovisual projects in store.
As a songwriter, guitarist and singer, she has toured Europe and released the records Origen (2014), I´m Home (2016) and Sandoval, 4 (2017). Her last album, Sortilegios (2018), was presented at the main Galician venues and festivals.

Inês Lima

Inês Lima is a Portuguese filmmaker, screenwriter, editor, and film programmer. She holds a BA from Lisbon School of Theatre and Film, and a MFA from Elías Querejeta Zine Eskola in San Sebastian, Spain.
Her first short film De madrugada (2017) has shown in San Sebastian IFF, IndieLisboa, Curtas Vila do Conde, Rencontres Internationales Paris/Berlin, Reykjavik IFF, and won the Jury Award at The Student Film Competition of the Nara IFF, the PERANSI Award for Best Young Filmmaker in the Arkipel IDEFF, and the Honorable Mention at the Cinema Novo Section in Porto/Post/Doc.
Her last work, A Casa do Norte, premiered in Curtas Vila do Conde 2021 and is currently in distribution. She also works as a film programmer for IndieLisboa International Film Festival since 2019.
