In 1933, Aurora Rodríguez shot dead her own daughter, Hildegart, while she was sleeping. The young woman, just eighteen years old, was one of the most prominent feminists of the Second Spanish Republic. But she was also a perfectly calculated product designed by her mother for her to be the liberator of women. Aurora’s plans didn’t work out as she’d hoped.

Marcos Nine (Hannover, 1977) began his career as a screenwriter in the TV series Mareas vivas and Terra de Miranda, and he first stood behind the camera to film the Prestige oil spill disaster in the documentary Carcamáns (2003). Since then, Marcos has directed the documentaries Pensando en soledad (2006), Historia de una parroquia (2007) and El viaje de Leslie (2014), selected at Seminci, and the short films JEDN (2006), A fábrica (2008), Aarón (2009), Manuscritos pompeianos (2010) and Radiografía de un autor de tebeos (2010), among others. His first feature film, La brecha (2012), was premiered at the Buenos Aires Independent Film Festival (BAFICI).
