An imagined conversation between the author and the neighbourhood of San Cristóbal, in the outskirts of Madrid. A constant game between form and essence that confronts the narrator’s prejudices with the spectator’s emotions; a free and evoking tour that progressively abandons the classic documentary structure to become a first-person essay.

Carmen Bellas (Santiago de Compostela, 1984) graduated in filmmaking from ECAM (Madrid). She has directed a number of short films (In memoriam, La visita) and music videos, and has worked as assistant director and script supervisor in Spain and Mexico. When We Were Wild is her first feature film.
