ANDRÉS SANJURJO

Andrés Sanjurjo will talk about the genesis and development of his first feature film, Alén Mar -a project that participated in the 03 edition of our #LAB-. A work, inspired by the experiences of the filmmaker, which illustrates the ability of cinema to explore its own ecosystem and, at the same time, enabling the filmmaker to walk the path of self-expression and self-knowledge. Cinema and life go hand in hand in this very personal proposal.

Andrés Sanjurjo
(1993, A Coruña, Spain), studied Audiovisual Communication and he specialized in cinema with several master’s degrees in Univ. Pompeu Fabra, Barcelona, and a doctorate that he is currently studying in Univ. da Coruña. Sanjurjo complemented his formal training with seminars and workshops with filmmakers such as Abbas Kiarostami, Víctor Erice, Boris Lehman and Jodie Mack, and critics such as Jonathan Rosembaum and Roger Koza. He also worked for film production companies such as Miramemira and Forastero, and with filmmakers such as Óliver Laxe, Santiago Fillol, Raúl Capdevila and Carlos Martínez-Peñalver. In 2019 he created the production film company Acariño Films in the search for new means of production for his films and to share this experience by producing other authors.
