ALEJANDRA TRELLES
Alejandra Trelles (Montevideo, Uruguay, 1974) works as a programmer for the Uruguayan Cinematheque since 2005 and, since 2009, she directs the Uruguay International Film Festival, this year in its 35th edition. Trelles also directs the outdoors international film festival Cine a Pedal, where screenings are possible thanks to the energy generated by pedalling. She has been programming director of Punta del Este Film Festival, and has collaborated as a programmer for Cineuropa, Santiago de Compostela’s Film Festival. She has been a member of the jury of major international film festivals, such as BAFICI and the Berlinale. Trelles also works as a translator, professor, and cultural journalist. Her articles have appeared in several Uruguayan publications, such as the newspaper La Diaria and the weekly newspaper Brecha.

 

CARLOS LOSILLA
Carlos Losilla is a Spanish essayist, film critic, and professor. He teaches Theories of cinema and Contemporary film genres at Universitat Pompeu Fabra (Barcelona), and is a member of the editorial board of major publications on cinema, such as Caimán. Cuadernos de cine and La Furia Umana. Since 2014, he works as a professor at ESCAC. He has published several books on cinema, such as La invención de Hollywood o cómo olvidarse de una vez por todas del cine clásico, En busca de Ulrich Seidl, El sitio de Viena. Huellas de Fritz Lang, La invención de la modernidad, and Zona de sombra. Notas dispersas a partir de Viaggio in Italia. He has also collaborated in the writing of collective international works, including Vincente Minnelli. The Art of Entertainment, A Companion to François Truffaut, and A Companion to Fritz Lang. As a film critic, he contributes to the weekly newspaper Time Out-Barcelona, the website Sensacine, and La Vanguardia’s supplement Cultura/s.

 

NELY REGUERA
Nely Reguera is a Spanish filmmaker. She is currently working as a professor of filmmaking at ESCAC (Barcelona). Her first feature, María (and the Others), was nominated for the Goya Awards for Best Actress and Best New Director. She started out as part of the filming directing teams of Tres días con la familia (Mar Coll, 2009) and Blog (Elena Trapé, 2010). In 2005 she released Muxía a ferida, a documentary on the Prestige catastrophe in Galicia. Her short film Pablo (2010) was on show at a number of film festivals (Alcine, Gijón, Huesca, Mecal, Versión Española-SGAE) and was recognized with several awards. Since 2010 she collaborates with the Spanish association A Bao A Qu, giving workshops on cinema within the framework of Cinema en Curs, their project for film literacy in primary and secondary schools.
