A man, a child, two wars, a river, a tree. A man and a child meet on a river bank, sharing the same memory and a secret.  Together, they are finally able to find the serenity, the silence, and the time they lost in the flowing waters of the river.

André Gil Mata (São João dá Madeira, Portugal, 1978) has a degree in film direction at ESTC (Lisbon) and his DLA at film.factory (Sarajevo). He worked in photography, theatre and as a film curator. He founded the LabStudio Átomo47 and the production company ‘Bando à Parte’. He has directed the short-films Water Ark (2009), House (2010), The Gravedigger (2013), In a Snow Globe (2017), all of them awarded at many international film festivals. How I Fell in Love with Eva Ras (2016), his first feature film, was premiered at FidMarseille and was shown in numerous film festivals, such as Viennale, Mar del Plata, Rotterdam IFF or Jeonju.
