VIOLETA KOVACSICS
Violeta Kovacsics (Vilanova i la Geltrú, 1981) is a Spanish copywriter specialized in cinema. She is a regular contributor to cultural magazines and publications such as Time Out Barcelona, Cultura/s, Diari de Tarragona, and Caimán Cuadernos de cine. She has also contributed to several collective books, and was the editor of Very Funny Things. Nueva comedia americana. She teaches history of classic cinema at ESCAC, and is guest lecturer at UIC and UOC. Kovacsics is also in charge of the catalogue and journal of the Sitges International Fantastic Film Festival of Catalonia. She has been president of ACCEC (the Catalan association of film critics and film writers).

 

JOSÉ MANUEL LÓPEZ
José Manuel López (Vigo, 1974) is a Spanish film critic, professor, and film programmer. He is currently writing his PhD La última ciudad. Vagabundeos terminales por el cine contemporáneo, and works as a professor of screenwriting in Pontevedra’s faculty of Communication. Since 2012, he offers workshops on cinema at different institutions, museums and art centers, such as MARCO in Vigo and CGAC in Santiago de Compostela, and has given talks at LAV Master’s, ESCAC, CGAI, and Málaga Film Festival. As a film critic, he has collaborated with a number of film magazines, and was the founder of the Spanish magazine Tren de sombras (2004-2008). From 2007 to 2017 he was part of the editorial committee of the well-renowned Spanish film magazine Caimán Cuadernos de Cine. He coordinated the edition of the book Naomi Kawase. El cine en el umbral for Las Palmas Film Festival (2008), and has collaborated in collective books such as La risa oblicua.Tangentes, paralelismos e intersecciones entre documental y humor; Las edades de Apu. Estudios sobre la Trilogía de Satyajit Ray, and Paul Schrader. El cineasta frente a los tiempos, among others.

 

RAMÓN REY
Ramón Rey (Salamanca, 1981) is a Spanish film critic and editor currently working at Cine maldito. He is also a contributor to Revista V.O.S, where many of his film critiques, reports, interviews, and coverage of various Spanish and European festivals have been published. Since 2010 he has been one of the creators of the podcast Esta peli ya la he visto, recognized with the Best European Podcast prize (European Podcast Award 2011). He co-authored the book La Italia de Matteo Garrone ( 2016), published by the Gijón International Film Festival.
